Last months sale was a huge success - and a huge failure depending on how you look at things, though I have finally gotten everything squared away and are finishing up the final shipments from the sale.

The hardware issue for the portable cases look as though it has finally been resolved - and I have received the first shipment from the new supplier. I have sent out the first batch of cases completed with this new hardware this morning and the rest of them should go out tomorrow. If you have not received a confirmation of shipment, you should shortly.

In terms of successes, we received over 100 orders for nearly 400 total products (not including bottles and what not). During the course of the month I drilled over 50,000 holes and used 16 sheets of plywood, over 2000 feet of oak and burned out one drill press motor...not to mention the bits. Starting the 17th of January till the first week of February I was spending 12 hours a day in the shop - 6 days a week. That was a fair amount of work to say the least.

The downside is that I have had to increase the MSRP pricing due to the realization of what could happen. With all the work and materials used, I managed to barely clear enough profit in order to pay for the tools which were worn out in the process. The current pricing is shown in the store and reflects in most cases an extra $5 over what the initial price was. This added cost will go towards replacing tools, bits and blades during production.

We also ran into several supply problems during the process. My supplier for the hardware was not able to keep up with the orders. I ended up using nearly all the oak in town (and doing a lot of resawing in the process). Once I get the last of these current orders out, I will need to reassess the various issues and see if any further adjustments or corrections need to be made in order to keep future supply issues from happening.

Smooth Primer
If you want your primer coat to go on very smooth, heat the can of primer in a container of warm water first. It will help to ensure the paint and propellant are more evenly mixed and that the paint particles are smaller. The end result is a much smoother primer coat, which of course leads to a much smoother top coat.
