Did an update to the Color Match database this evening. Added another 400+ color samples and activated another 60 or so that apparently belonged in the Foundry set (I don't have many Foundry paints, so I wasn't exactly sure which line they belonged to until it was pointed out to me). This brings the total number of paints that are indexed to 3,747. The new lines added are Humbrol Enamels, FolkArt acrylics, Createx Artist Acrylics and Createx Airbrush Acrylics. As I mentioned above, I managed to get the remainder of the Foundry paint samples that had been sent in sorted out and scanned in.
So what does that mean in the grand scheme of things? Well we have complete or nearly complete sets of the following paints which we can match to any other paint within the database:Adiken Adikolor, Badger Air - Opaque, Badger FREAKflex, Badger MODELflex, Cartoon Colour Cel-Vinyl, Coat D`arms Fantasy Colours, Coat D`arms Military Colours, Coat D`arms World War II Colours, Createx Acrylic Colors, Createx Airbrush Colors, Delta Ceramcoat, Derivan MiNiS, Foundry Paint System, Golden Airbrush Colors, Golden Fluid Acrylics, Gunze Mr. Hobby, GW Citadel Colour, GW Foundation, Humbrol Acrylics, Humbrol Enamels, IWM Iron Wind Paints, Krylon Interior-Exterior Paint, MIG Abteilung Oil Colour, MIXOL Tints, Plaid Apple Barrel, Plaid FolkArt, Privateer Press Formula P3, Rackham Color, Ral Partha Partha Paints, Reaper Master Series, Reaper Pro Paints, Regal Howard Hues Acryllic Paint, Renaissance Ink RI Acrylics, Tamiya Color Acrylic Paint, Tamiya Color Flat Acrylic, Testors Model Master Acryl, Testors Model Master Fantasy, Testors Polly Scale Railroad Acrylic, Vallejo Air Color, Vallejo Game Color and Vallejo Model Color
That is 41 different lines of paints. I still have 5 or 6 more that I need to scan in before I get caught back up on my end. Once that is done, I will begin in earnest to add the additional samples to all the colors in the paint database in order to increase the accuracy of the samples for comparison. The astute among you may have noticed that I have left off Gamecraft Acrylic Paints from the list of samples even though I have it in the database. Well, as I have mentioned before - that line has been a pain to get samples of, so I do not consider the data accurate enough to include in the indexed paint lines. So there you have it. This tool is well on its way to becoming one useful tool for miniature painters, modelers and other figure collectors. Thanks again for all the support so far, Joe Kutz |
